The Piedmont Police Dept., along with Piedmont Fire Dept. and the Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office, are currently investigating an arson that occurred at a residence in the 700 Block of Draper St. On Thursday, June 23rd, the Piedmont Fire Dept. was dispatched to a structure fire on Draper St.

After the fire was extinguished, personnel determined that the fire was suspicious and began an investigation into the cause of the fire.

During the investigation of the cause of the fire, it was determined that the fire was arson. Specifics of the cause of the fire will not be released at this time.

A $500 reward is being offered for the arrest and successful conviction of the person or persons responsible.
