PIEDMONT – Piedmont football coach Steve Smith confirmed Wednesday evening the Bulldogs will host Class 7A Grissom of Huntsville as a replacement for Jacksonville on Friday night.
Jacksonville forfeited with Piedmont on Tuesday due to COVID-19 concerns. It’s the second straight week Piedmont’s scheduled opponents have forfeited because of the coronavirus. Weaver canceled on the Bulldogs last week.
Class 3A, top-ranked Piedmont is 5-0, while Grissom is 2-2. The game will be a non-counting contest. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Field of Champions.
