Piedmont Woman Air-Lifted for Treatment Following County Road 178 Wreck

Alabama State Troopers responded to two separate accidents in Cherokee County on Monday – one of which included one person being air-lifted for treatment.

That first wreck – involving a 2005 GMC and a 2009 Nissan – driven by a female and a male respectively both from Piedmont – occurred on Alabama Highway 9 at 11:20am  Fortunately, no one was hurt in that mishap.

The second took place around 5:45pm, on County Road 178, involving a 2012 XP900 off-road vehicle, being driven by a female resident of Piedmont.  According to reports, she was flown to Grady Memorial in Atlanta for treatment.

Those responding to the scene in addition to troopers included Piedmont EMS and Rescue Squad personnel along with the Ellisville and Spring Creek Fire Departments.
