Piedmont Woman Dies From Injuries Sustained in Columbus Day Wreck on Highway 278

A Piedmont woman has died as the result of injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash that occurred on Monday of this week (October 14th) in Cherokee County.    

At approximately 6:30 that evening – the Spring Garden Fire Department, Piedmont Rescue Squad and Alabama State Troopers responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover taking place in the 400 block of Alabama Highway 278, where an occupant had been ejected from the vehicle.

Cherokee County Coroner Dr. Jeremy Deaton said the subject – Kerry Ann Roberts, age 45 – was transported from the scene to Kennestone Hospital, where she later died.

That accident remains under investigation by the Cherokee County Coroner’s Office and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
