Piedmont’s Ray picks up bronze medal in 3A girls pole vault

CULLMAN – Piedmont freshman Lexi Ray earned a bronze medal in the girls pole vault (8-00.00). She also came in 11th in the triple jump (26-02.25) to lead the Lady Bulldogs at the Class 3A state track and field meet in Cullman over the weekend.

Sophomore Ashlyn Adderhold finished fourth in the Class 3A girls pole vault (7-06.00). She was also sixth in the triple jump (30-04.50) and eighth in the high jump (4-04.00).

The Lady Bulldogs came in 17th in the overall team standing with 14.5 points. Providence Christian won the girls meet with 124.5 points.

In the 3A boys events, Braden McDaniel was ninth in the discus (103-01) and Jalen Helm was ninth in the long jump (18-06.50).

Cody Holloway came in 10th in the 300 meter hurdles (44.70). He was also 13th in the long jump (17-08.00). Kaleb Thomason took 14th in the high jump (5-02.00).

The Bulldog boys finished 15th in the 4×400 meter relay (3:59.51).
