Police Investigate Attempted Arson on Rogers Street

A 29 year old man reported to Gadsden Police Thursday (May 2nd), that his residence in the 900 block of Rogers Street had been damaged by someone in an attempted arson.

The man told police he’d gone to bed around midnight, and at approximately 11:00 the following morning as he was standing outside his home, he noticed damage to the vinyl siding and he could smell a strong odor of gasoline.

The fire department responded and made sure everything was safe.

The complainant told officers a former friend may’ve been involved, because earlier in the week he’d received a letter from that individual, accusing him of having been in a relationship with his girlfriend while he was in jail.

The investigation into the matter is on-going.
