President-elect Donald Trump thanked legendary country band Alabama, for performing at the Chairman’s Global Dinner in Washington Tuesday night.  At 8:03am Wednesday, Trump tweeted – “@TheAlabamaBand was great last night in D.C. playing for 147 diplomats and ambassadors from countries around the world. Thanks Alabama!”  The dinner was a black-tie, invitation-only affair introducing foreign diplomats to the incoming administration.

Ft Payne’s hometown heroes Alabama, Randy Owen, Jeff Cook and Teddy Gentry, racked up 43 #1 singles, with 21 gold, platinum and multi-platinum albums, and more than 73 million records sold.  They gathered more than 150 industry awards including right “Entertainer of the Year” honors, two Grammys, two People’s Choice Awards, and a star on the “Hollywood Walk of Fame”.
