RAGLAND – The Ragland Purple Devils defeated Gaylesville 40-14 in high school football action on Friday night.
The Trojans (1-1), coming off a season-opening win over Whitesburg Christian a week ago, were plagued by fumbles, and the Purple Devils (2-0) capitalized on those turnovers.
Gaylesville quarterback Tanner Eads tossed a touchdown pass to Seth Lee, and Keylon Higgins ran in for a score for the only Trojan points.
Gaylesville looks to rebound when it hosts Class 1A, Region 7 rival Appalachian next Friday.
