Raymond Luther (R.L.) Conkle, age 91 of Fort Payne, passed away Friday, November 13th at his residence.
Funeral services will be 2:PM Tuesday, November 17th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jimmy Dan Clanton officiating; burial will follow in Tucker’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2:PM Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Neal (Tammy) Conkle of Dogtown; daughter, Stephanie (Edwin) Wills of Dogtown; brothers; Johnny(Gloria), Ezell(Bernice), and Wayne(Tracy)Conkle, sister: Mary Lou(Ray) Hopkins, grandchildren, Charles (Stephanie) Conkle, Alan (Heather) Conkle, Zack (Megan) Wills, Amelia (Jody) Yancey; 9 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces & nephews.
Mr. Conkle was a native of Cherokee County, the son of the late Joseph Samuel and Lamander Watts Conkle and was a member of Daniel’s Chapel Methodist Church.
