The Regulators MC East Alabama Chapter of Centre has earned a reputation as a group of individuals that take an active role in the community. They see a need and they take action to solve the problem –over the weekend they held a special event to raise money for a scholarship fund in memory of a Cherokee Electric Co-Op employee and Sand Rock native Jake Ford who tragically passed away from a car accident on July 24th 2020.
The 1st Annual Jake Ford Memorial Scholarship Fund event brought in over $5,000 – Club President Bronson Morrison talks about how the idea for the event came about.
As Bronson stated, the money will go to a Sand Rock student each year to help further their education. Morrison said that they had over 80 items that were raffled off the event.
Morrison said the show of support from the community during these difficult times was very humbling.
