Report of Car Fire on Highway 411 Turns Out to be Steam from Overheated Engine

Firefighters were dispatched to reports of a vehicle being on fire at 210 Highway 411 south, near Mark’s Animal Hospital, shortly after 8:00am Wednesday.

The initial report stated that two structures were in danger – the animal hospital and a barn.  However upon arrival firefighters determined there wasn’t actually a fire but instead, the vehicle had simply overheated – and the motorist calling in the report to dispatch had simply mistaken steam coming from the radiator, for what appeared to be, from a distance, smoke from a fire.
