Representative Ginny Shaver spoke with WEIS Radio News early Friday morning to inform us that action is at long last – being taken on the Highway 411 Project in Cherokee County – with “bid opening” being set for September 25th.
Representative Shaver told us, hopefully, the long-awaited project will actually kick-off and dirt will start moving around 90 days later.
The project will be funded by the first year ‘Rebuild Alabama’ Plan, and will include roughly five miles between Cherokee and Etowah counties which has not been four-laned. This will provide Cherokee County with its first four-lane access to an interstate, which is critical for economic development
