Representative Ginny Shaver has informed WEIS Radio News – that the contractor has now been given the go ahead to move forward with the Highway 411 Project.

Wednesday Representative Shaver was in Montgomery for Joint Transportation Committee meetings and she spoke with ALDOT Transportation Director John Cooper who told her the contractor would be proceeding – putting that long-awaited project into motion.

It’ll be funded by the first year “Rebuild Alabama” plan – and will include around five miles between Cherokee and Etowah counties – which will provide Cherokee County with its first four-lane access to an interstate – which is critical for economic development

We’ll have more on this story as it becomes available.
