Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting Held for the Cove at Riverside Campground

COVE 12

The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce held the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Cove at Riverside Campground on Friday morning.

New owners Wade and Angela Wood, Brad and Tammy Woods and Sue Lawson, have made extensive upgrades to the facility, gutting and renovating the hotel and bathhouses, prior to starting on the restaurant, and they’re about to do the Bait & Tackle Shop and a new sundry store, with five cabins set to be renovated following that; they’ve also put in a new dock.

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony we spoke with owner Angela Wood and she gave us the “hitting the high points” version of how the group came to own the business:

Angela’s mother, Sue Lawson, and her sister and husband Brad and Tammy, all moved here from Tennessee, while she and her husband Wade moved here from Ringgold, Georgia.

It was immediately clear that Angela along with everybody else at the Cove is a real “people person” – and we asked her how they’d been accepted into the community since making the moves:
