WEIS Radio News has received numerous complaints regarding the wait time that motorists are being forced to endure during road construction currently underway in Leesburg.
The road work being done along Highways 68 and 411 has reportedly resulted in wait times that range from four or five minutes up to 45 minutes according to some callers.
That work is being performed by McCartney Construction out of Gadsden – and it’s unclear just what an “acceptable” or “standardized” wait time under such circumstances would normally be – or who would set the average wait time – the on-site job foreman or the state.
We have a call in to Tony Harris with the State DOT – however we’ve yet to hear back from the department.
All motorists planning on traveling through Leesburg along 68 or 411 – should give themselves extra time to get where they’re going.
