Robert Shad Sentenced to 10 Year Prison Term on Child Molestation Charge

Shad, RobertIn a news release from the office of Cherokee County District Attorney Mike O’Dell it was announced that a child molester who had terrorized multiple generations of his own family has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term.

On Wednesday (August 20th) of this week, Circuit Judge Jeremy Taylor denied a probation request and sentenced 70 year old Robert Shad of the Little River community, to a term of ten years in state prison.

According to District Attorney O’Dell, Shad had entered a guilty plea in Cherokee County Circuit Court in June (2014) for Attempted Sexual Abuse of a Child under the Age of 12 and Sexual Abuse 2nd Degree; Shad was indicted last fall by a Cherokee County Grand Jury, for sex crimes involving multiple victims.

O’Dell commended investigators from the District Attorney’s Office, Department of Human Resources and the personnel of the Cherokee County Children’s Advocacy Center for their cooperative efforts in bringing Robert Shad to Justice.
