Electronic Arts – 2016(LOS ANGELES) — Players of the acclaimed game Star Wars: Battlefront will get an early peek at a key battle in the upcoming movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story on December 5 — more than a week before the movie hits theaters.
Electronic Arts says that’s when it will release its final expansion pack for the film, Rogue One: Scarif, set on the jungle planet glimpsed in the anticipated film’s trailer.
The pack will also let players assume the roles of spunky Rebel Jyn Erso, played by Felicity Jones in the movie, as well as Ben Mendelsohn’s onscreen alter-ego, the villainous Orson Krennic, who is trying to win the Emperor’s favor by building the planet-smashing Death Star.
The movie has Erso heading up a ragtag group of Rebels tasked with stealing the plans to the dreaded space station.
Rogue One, which also stars Forest Whitaker and Donnie Yen, opens December 16 from Lucasfilm, which like ABC News, is owned by Disney.
