[VIDEO] Rome Man Going “The Extra Mile” To Share The Gospel

A busy roadside on a usual day in Centre may seem like an unusual place to encounter a ray of hope, but inspiration comes in the unlikeliest of places.

The Bible tells us in the Book of Luke to ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. That’s exactly what a Rome, Georgia man is doing – after all, we’ve all been called to minister in our own way. He travels the streets with a cross on his back with his wife who carries the Christian Flag, together they are spreading the Word of God one foot step at a time.

His name is Robert Abernathy – on Friday, we found Robert walking along Main Street near the Centre 1st Methodist Church. Of course our curiosity was piqued so we pulled over to the side of the road and spoke with Abernathy, who was nice enough to spend a few minutes telling us about himself, and why he’s chosen to walk the highways and byways of rural America.

Robert journals his ministry through his wife Kimberly’s Facebook page – he posted on Friday that he logged 7 hours that day and was able to lead 14 people to the Lord.

You could definitely say when it comes to spreading a message of kindness, caring, and consideration, he’s certainly willing to go the extra mile.
