Rome Man Killed in Collision with Log Truck on Alabama Highway Friday Morning

A Rome resident was fatally injured Friday morning, when his Nissan truck collided with a logging truck on the Alabama Highway.

According to Floyd County Police, 46 year old Arturo Castrejon was killed around 7:40am when his vehicle struck the eastbound logging truck, causing traumatic head injuries.

During the wreck four logs slid from atop the truck, and went through the front windshield of the Nissan, killing Castrejon; the driver of the logging truck was found not to be at fault and received no injuries in connection with the crash.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
