An attempted residential burglary over the weekend where a victim was shot still has Rome Police detectives searching for those involved.
According to Lt. Gary Clayton of the Rome Police Department, officers were dispatched to an apartment complex at 500 Waddell Street Sunday morning to the report of shots being fired;
“When officers arrived…summoned an ambulance…one individual had been shot in the chest, one time; he was taken to Floyd ER. Patrol officers did a sweep of the area securing the scene.”
Lt. Clayton said the suspects are considered armed and dangerous. The victim is recovering from surgery at Floyd Medical Center and was able to give a statement to investigators.
