The Rome Alcohol Control Commission will consider a policy change after an establishment was cited for serving alcohol while their license was suspended.

According to Rome City Clerk Joe Smith, Rambo’s located on North Broad Street was paying their alcohol license fee in quarterly installments. After the city did not receive the payment for the latest quarter, the license was suspended on the 15th of July.

Rome Police then found alcohol being served.

Rambo’s now has a date with a municipal judge and could face a fine of up to $2,000.

During a discussion of the incident the Alcohol Control Commission asked that Smith take a look at the policy regarding quarterly payments for licenses.

Smith is expected to have something ready for the ACC’s August meeting.
