A Rome woman has been jailed on a felony Vehicular Homicide charge in connection with a fatal wreck on Burnett Ferry Road near Conn Street that occurred back on April 10th. According to reports Stephanie Renee Vicente, age 35 of a Hull Avenue address, was driving a vehicle with a load that wasn’t adequately secured to prevent dropping or shifting of the cargo onto the roadway creating a safety hazard.
That safety hazard resulted in the ejection of 22 year old Stephanie Marshall of Tamassee Lane, who was a rear occupant in the vehicle. Marshall ultimately died as a result of trauma sustained in the traffic accident.
Vicente turned herself in at the Floyd County Jail on Tuesday evening.
She is also charged with reckless conduct and unsecured load.
