Ronald McDonald House(NEW YORK) — Creepy clown sightings could force Ronald McDonald into hiding this month.
As multiple reports of clowns continue to cause hysteria across the country, McDonald’s has decided it’s best for their mascot to keep a low profile until the craze blows over.
In a statement to ABC News, Terri Hickey of McDonald’s Global Communications said, “McDonald’s and franchisees in the local markets are mindful of the current climate around clown sightings in communities and as such are being thoughtful in respect to Ronald McDonald’s participation in community events for the time being.”
A longtime icon for the fast-food chain, Ronald McDonald is known for his bright red hair, clown makeup, yellow jumpsuit and huge red shoes.
