Former State Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore handily defeated former Attorney General and current Senator Luther Strange in Tuesday’s statewide runoff for State Senate. Senator Strange conceded shortly after 8:30 p.m.
In Cherokee County, Moore garnered 50.46% of the votes with 1437 while Senator Strange had 49.54% of the votes with 1411. Moore will now face U.S. Attorney Doug Jones (D) in the December 12th General Election.
Immediately following his win, Moore posted the following Tweet.
CONSERVATIVE VICTORY HAS COME TO #ALSEN!
Because of you, tonight, the establishment has been DEFEATED in Alabama!
THANK YOU!
