Run-Off Required in GOP Commissioner’s Race and Probate Judge Race in Chattooga County, Georgia Come August

Voters in neighboring Chattooga County, Georgia, will be heading to the polls once again, on August 11th for a run-off in two political races.

In the race for Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Elsberry received the most votes and Incumbent Jason Winters came in second with Jeff Coley coming in third; Elsberry gathered 1,595 votes; Winters 1,593 and Coley 1,466.  Elsberry and Winters will be in a run-off August 11th; In the Democratic race for the post of Commissioner, Jimmy Holbrook was unopposed and received 764 votes. 

In the GOP Probate Judge race Gary Woods received the most votes but failed to get 51% of the vote.  Woods total was 2,215 while Teresa Pope came in second with 1,452 and Derrick Ekroat received 888 votes.  Woods and Pope will be in the run-off August 11th – and that winner will then go on to face Independent Hollie Strawn-Gilliland.
