Sales Tax Holiday This Weekend

back to school

This is a great weekend to pick up those back to school items.

The State of Alabama’s 8th annual sales tax holiday is continuing until midnight on Sunday.

Shoppers have the opportunity to purchase certain school supplies, computers, and clothing free of state sales or use tax.

List of Tax Exempt Back To School Items

Beginning in 2006, a sales tax holiday was enacted by the State Legislature whereby no state sales or use tax is due on covered items as defined in the Act and in the Sales Tax Holiday Rule.
