Sand Rock softball shuts out Ragland, DAR

OXFORD – The Sand Rock Lady Wildcats posted a pair of softball shutouts Friday in a tournament at Oxford Lake on Friday. They defeated Ragland and DAR by identical 12-0 scores.

In the win over Ragland, Lindsey Chambers led the Lady Wildcats (20-13-1) at the plate by going 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Jadyn Foster went 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs and three RBIs. Maggie Tinsley was also 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs.

Sherina Foster doubled and scored a run. Sammi Parker contributed a hit, a run and a RBI. Maggie Hester had a hit and a RBI. Rylin St. Clair finished with a hit and a walk.

Jadyn Foster earned the win in the circle. She worked a pair of innings and surrendered just two hits with four strikeouts. EllaGrace Hood also tossed two innings and surrendered one hit with three strikeouts.

In the win over DAR, Katelyn St. Clair and Jadyn Foster both homered, doubled and scored a pair of runs. Katelyn St. Clair drove in five runs and Jadyn Foster drove in two runs.

Tinsley and Hester also tallied two hits, a run and a RBI apiece. One of Tinsley’s hits was a double.

Sherina Foster doubled, walked, scored two runs and drove in two more. Parker posted a hit and a RBI. Hood had a hit and a walk. Rylin St. Clair scored twice and walked twice. Lacey Barnette also scored two runs. Chambers walked twice.

Hood picked up the win after working a pair of innings of one-hit, one-walk ball. She finished with six strikeouts. Foster also worked two innings. She gave up two hits and finished with four strikeouts.
