Sand Rock softball uses long ball to rally at Hokes Bluff

HOKES BLUFF – Down three runs in the top of the sixth inning, Sand Rock used the long ball to rally for four runs in the top of the sixth and two more in the seventh to take a 7-4 softball win at Hokes Bluff on Thursday.

Katelyn St. Clair and Jadyn Foster led the Lady Wildcats (1-1) at the plate. St. Clair had three hits, including a home run, and three RBIs. Foster blasted two homers and finished with three RBIs. She also picked up the win in the circle after tossing five innings. She gave up three earned runs on seven hits with no walks and four strikeouts.

Ella Grace Hood homered, walked and drove in two runs. She also tossed two innings of one-hit ball in the circle with a walk and a pair of strikeouts.

Maggie Tinsley doubled and scored a run. Sammi Parker had a hit and scored a run. Maggie Hester finished with a hit.

Sand Rock plays in a tournament at Choccolocco Park in Oxford on Friday.
