SAND ROCK – Sand Rock’s Jadyn Foster broke the school’s single-season record for home runs Thursday with her 14th bomb in the Lady Wildcats’ 15-3 five-inning softball victory over Hokes Bluff on Thursday.

The previous home run record was 13, held by Madison Smith since 2013.

Foster went 2-for-3 in the game with her milestone homer, two runs and three RBIs. She also earned the win in the circle for Sand Rock (29-14-1) after tossing three innings. She gave up three earned runs on four hits with two walks and four strikeouts.

EllaGrace Hood pitched the other two innings. She surrendered just two hits and a walk with a pair of strikeouts. Hood was also 2-for-4 at the plate with three runs and a RBI.

Katelyn St. Clair collected three hits, including two doubles, and three runs. Maggie Tinsley also tallied three hits, including a double, with three runs and two RBIs. Maggie Hester went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and a RBI. Rylin St. Clair was 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Sammi Parker also went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs. Sherina Foster homered. Lindsey Chambers added a hit and a RBI.

Sand Rock plays in a tournament at Plainview on Saturday.
