School Board Approves Fiscal Year 2022 Budget

During their regular meeting on Wednesday afternoon, the Cherokee County School Board heard from Chief Financial Officer Robyn Cunningham who presented the final budget hearing before the school board voted to approve the measure immediately following the presentation.

We will have additional details outlined within the Fiscal Year 2022 budget in a later story.

In other business, the board voted to approve to Extend EPSL Leave through September 30, 2021 – Retroactive to June 1, 2021. They also received the July 2021 Bank Reconciliation, Cash Balance, and Financial Report and the revised 2021-22 Policy Manual.

Also approved was the Fiscal Year 2022 Capital Plan, the 2021-22 Renewal of Alabama Trust for Boards of Education (ATBE) Automobile Fund Participation, 2021-22 Renewal of Alabama Trust for Boards of Education (ATBE) General Liability/Errors and Omissions Liability Fund Participation and the LEA Plan for Gifted.

Bids were accepted for Fuel– Cedar Bluff Oil – Sole Bidder, Propane Gas – Blossman Gas – Sole Bidder and Garbage– Waste Management – Sole Bidder.

The board also granted approval for Brittany Hill and the Cedar Bluff FFA to Attend the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN on October 26-30, 2021 – Funded by Cedar Bluff FFA/Students/Parents and approved to declare the Field House Metal Restoration Project at Sand Rock School as a Public Works Project.
