School Bus Crash In North Cherokee County, No Students Injured

Cherokee County Emergency responders were called to the scene of a school bus crash occurring on Cherokee County Road 95 in the Jamestown Community just north of Gaylesville at approximately 4:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

According to a news release from the Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency, Cherokee County Board of Education officials confirmed that there were four students on board the bus but none of them were injured. The driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

The Broomtown Fire Department, Floyd EMS, Cherokee County EMA officials, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Superintendent of Education Mitchell Guice, School Board Transportation Supervisor Harold Pearson, school safety officials and Alabama State Troopers all responded to the scene.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
