Scottsboro’s Interim Police Chief Arrested Over the Weekend

Scottsboro’s interim police chief was arrested on Saturday night – on charges of operating a vessel under the influence.

Ron Latimer was booked into the Marshall County Jail at 10:47 that night, according to the Marshall County Sheriff’s website.

He was later released on $1,500 bond.  Latimer was appointed interim Police Chief June 1st, taking over for Chief Ralph Dawe, who served as chief for 14 years.

Latimer has been with the Scottsboro PD since 1992 and has been Assistant Police Chief for the past 14 years, with the rank of Major.
