Gadsden authorities continue to investigate a Friday afternoon incident which left a woman with a gunshot wound to the left wrist.

The website al.com is reporting that shortly after 1:00pm Friday an eighteen year old woman went into a restaurant in the 700 block of Tuscaloosa Avenue – where she encountered another woman with whom she’d had a long-running argument.

An altercation ensued and the second woman, age 28, reportedly reached behind the counter at the restaurant and grabbed a gun. During the struggle between the two women over the gun, the eighteen year old was shot in the wrist.

According to police reports – she also suffered scratches, bite marks and bruises on her left arm and chest.

No additional information regarding what charges may be filed in connection with that incident has been made available.
