According to a news release issued Wednesday by Public Information Officer Chuck Daniel with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, at approximately 2:55 that afternoon troopers were dispatched to the area of Jackson County 452 and DeKalb County 174, inside of Bucks Pocket State Park, in reference to a vehicle being in South Soddy Creek.
Daniels said state troopers, along with the Scottsboro/Jackson Rescue Squad and officials at Bucks Pocket State Park immediately launched a search for the vehicle; however, they were unable to find locate anything.
The search was eventually postponed due to darkness and the swift current.
Trooper Daniels said, weather permitting, search crews will resume operations today.
