According to administrators at Cherokee Health & Rehab, on Wednesday, February 28, Cherokee County Health and Rehabilitation Center activated the use of their Security protocols. 

This took place not as a result of any direct threat, but ultimately as a result of indirect statements reported to them from social media. 

In an email from Brad Hinton, Administrator at Cherokee Health & Rehab he explained that this is not an uncommon practice for the facility, as they have utilized these measures in the past.  The number one priority of the facility is to ensure the safety of the residents, staff, and visitors.

Utilizing the secure access points of entry is just an additional measure of safety and benefit our facility has to offer. 

In light of the growing concerns across our nation, Cherokee County Health & Rehab Center is committed to continuing to improve and implement security protocols that will further attempts to provide a safe atmosphere for those they care for.  

Hinton said they appreciate and understand the concern of the community and ask for continued cooperation as they strive to provide the best care for the residents of the facility.
