Senator Andrew Jones Discusses Highway 411 Project; Water Quality Issues; Infrastructure and More including Re-Election Bid

Senator Andrew Jones will launch his Cherokee/DeKalb County re-election campaign this Thursday in Centre, with a special event being held in the Chamber of Commerce meeting room on the campus of Gadsden State Cherokee.

Jones was elected to the Senate in 2018 – and he brought his hard workin’, never give up attitude, learned over long years as a farmer and small business owner, to the job of politics.  During a recent conversation with the senator – WEIS Radio News touched on several subjects of interest, both new and long-running.   Senator Jones has made infrastructure a major part of his push for a better future for the citizens of the county:

The senator stressed that the 411 expansion between Cherokee and Etowah counties is a $43 million project; adding that $2 million has also recently been secured for the engineering design of the I-759 Eastern Connector in Etowah County.  Of course great detail and attention is also given to the core things that go into making and keeping a community great:

Jones has supported broadband expansion, helping small businesses, and workforce training efforts; has backed pro-life legislation and election security measures, along with second amendment protection bills and has authored legislation to support the military and repeal the grocery tax among many other causes.

That Campaign Kickoff event is scheduled for this Thursday, June 3rd in the Chamber of Commerce meeting room located on the campus of Gadsden State Cherokee, at 801 Cedar Bluff Road in Centre, between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00pm.
