A total of five people were injured in a single vehicle accident on Highway 411, just north of Hill’s Store, at around 4:10 Saturday afternoon.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report, the driver of the 2010 Hyundai was listed as 19 year old Carlos Laux of Stony Point, North Carolina; he along with four passengers was injured – those included Jennifer Hernandez no age listed – in addition to three juveniles.

Two medical transport helicopters were called to the scene to airlift two of those injured to nearby trauma centers for treatment of unspecified injuries.

The others were taken by EMS ground units to nearby hospitals.

Units from the McCords and Spring Creek Fire Departments, Cherokee EMS, Redmond EMS, Rescue Squad personnel and Alabama State Troopers responded to the scene.

The cause of that accident remains under investigation by state troopers.
