The National Weather Service is saying a strong storm system could possibly bring another cold front across the state and generate a round of heavy rain and storms this weekend – it could also bring back the possibility of tornadoes. Alabama has already experienced a total of 40 twisters statewide this year (2019).
Forecasters say the timing is still impossible to “nail down”; however, the expected time of major impact will be overnight Saturday into Sunday. Some storms could appear during the day on Saturday as well – again the forecast will be in a position to change as things evolve between now and then.
