Severe Weather Possible for Cherokee County on Friday and Saturday

Strong to severe storms will be possible in Alabama on Friday into Saturday ahead of a cold front.

According to the National Weather Service, those storms are expected to reach north Alabama late Friday, and then move south, and east, through the state overnight, into Saturday.  The strongest storms could have wind gusts up to 60 mph and heavy rain –  there is also a chance for isolated tornadoes.  Storms will be possible across north Alabama, from 12:00 midnight to 12:00 noon on Saturday.

Forecasters are saying damaging winds, heavy rainfall and isolated tornadoes will be possible across north Alabama, with slightly higher chances for northwest Alabama.  Strong winds could bring down trees and cause power outages.
