Shaw Industries, located in Valley Head, is cutting 160 jobs – leaving 195 employees still on the payroll.
A company spokesperson stated that the business is revamping its production capacity and in regard to the workforce, it will take three to four weeks to go through the displacements and the process of helping associates transfer to other Shaw plants – if they choose to do so
What that boils down to is that it’ll be about a month before any associates are laid off with the exception of those who may elect to take a voluntary layoff earlier.
The company is reportedly talking with employers throughout the southeast, in an effort to find opportunities for workers not transferring to other Shaw plants.
Shaw Industries is headquartered in Dalton, Georgia.
