In light of on-going concerns regarding public and personal safety more and more people in Alabama, and across the nation, many of whom never thought they’d own a gun, have made the choice to take up arms and Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver urges everyone to make certain they learn how to properly use the weapon they’ve chosen, and, above all, take all of the necessary safety precautions.

During that recent visit to the WEIS Radio studios the sheriff discussed the basics of what is known as the “Run/Hide/and Fight” method, he also talked about security for churches and many other locations, such as public gatherings, where basic safety measures may not have been considered necessary in the past, but should perhaps be re-evaluated now.
