Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrested two subjects Tuesday afternoon for illegal distribution of drugs.

Alexander Preston Brown, age 22 of Centre, and Melissa Ann Jolly, 41, also of Centre, were taken into custody and transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center.

According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, the charges stem from two unrelated drug investigations.

Brown was booked into jail for the Unlawful Distribution of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.  Jolly was booked in on two counts of Unlawful Distribution of Controlled Substance in addition to two counts of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Brown has since been released after posting bond which had been set at $16,500. 

Jolly remains in jail with bond set at $31,000.
