Shoplifting Suspect at Collinsville Dollar General Hit with Theft and Drug Charges; Second Suspect Sought

On Wednesday (February 7th) the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office was contacted regarding a theft at the Dollar General Store in Collinsville.

Upon arrival, deputies were informed by the manager that he had observed a woman, later identified as 36 year old Trisha Marie Decastro of Crossville, placing items in her purse that she didn’t pay for.  When deputies searched Decastro’s purse they discovered items taken from the store and a  small black container that held several plastic baggies which contained methamphetamine and some prescription pills.

According to the news release issued by DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris, Decastro was accompanied by Anthony Gerald Brown.  As deputies and a Crossville officer were checking Brown for items, they found a marijuana grinder along with marijuana in his pocket. Brown pulled away from officers and fled – running through a residential area.  Brown managed to escape, however warrants have been obtained for his arrest.

Decastro was taken into custody, charged with 4th Degree Theft of Property, with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, and Illegal Possession of Prescription Drugs.
