Short-Lived Thunderstorm Brings Down Numerous Trees Across The County

A short-lived thunderstorm produced some strong winds and heavy rainfall across Cherokee County on Thursday evening. The National Weather Service issued a Significant Weather Advisory for Cherokee County before numerous reports of downed trees began coming in.

Trees and powerlines were reported down on County Road 104 in Cedar Bluff where Cedar Bluff Firefighters and Cherokee Electric Crews responded. Trees were also reported down blocking the road on Alabama Highway 68 East near County Road 107 & Riverside Lane in Gaylesville.

Trees were also reported down on County Roads 91, 166, and on Northwood Drive near Woodland Drive in Centre.

Fortunately, there were no reports of any structural damage.
