A Silver Creek man is lodged in the Floyd County Jail following a shooting on Donahoo Road Wednesday night.  According to Floyd County Jail records 48 year old William Riley Pegg Jr. of an Old Rockmart Road address was on the victim’s property without consent and he was reportedly attempting to take a utility trailer.

Pegg threatened to shoot and kill the victim, and then pulled out a revolver from his truck and fired three rounds.  A bullet struck the victim in the shin area of his right leg, where it struck the leg bones and exited through the side of the leg.

Pegg stands charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery, terroristic threats & acts, criminal trespass, reckless conduct, pointing or aiming a gun at another and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
