Single-Vehicle Accident on Highway 9 Sunday Morning; Driver Not Found at Scene

Alabama State Troopers, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, EMS and Rescue Squad personnel and Cedar Bluff firefighters responded to a report of a single-vehicle accident on Alabama Highway 9 around 6:45 Sunday morning.

That wreck took place in the area of County Road 115 above Highway 35 where responding agencies arrived to find that the vehicle in question had gone down an embankment, after it had knocked down a mile marker sign.  The driver was nowhere to be found.

The incident remains under investigation.
