Single Vehicle Crash Takes Out Power In Cedar Bluff

A vehicle accident on Alabama Highway 9 near H&L Motors in Cedar Bluff left some residents in the dark for several hours on Saturday evening. A Honda Accord left the roadway near Forrest Street and struck a power pole, breaking it in half and sending lines crashing to the ground.

The driver of the vehicle managed to escape the accident without injury however a passenger was taken to a Rome area hospital for treatment. It took Cherokee Electric crews around two hours to remove the broken pole and reset a new one including replacing the transformer before power could be restored to the area.

Cedar Bluff Police and Firefighters, Cherokee EMS and Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office deputies also responded to the scene. We will update this story as soon as the Cedar Bluff Police Department accident report is complete.
