Sixteen Year Old Charged with Attempted Murder Following Shooting at Jacksonville McDonald’s

Police have arrested a sixteen year old accused of being involved in the shooting incident at the Jacksonville McDonald’s last Friday (December 18th).

Assistant Police Chief Bill Wineman says that teen was arrested by members of the Calhoun County Major Crimes Task Force and members of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force; he was charged with two counts of attempted murder with bond being set at $120,000 cash.

Wineman said because of state law, the sixteen year old will be tried as an adult in this case.

According to incident reports the shooting occurred at 8:40 Friday night, leaving two males injured – 18 year old Abdul R. Khalillah of Anniston and 19 year old Ronnie M. Royal, who is a resident of Alexandria.

Both were taken to Regional Medical Center in Jacksonville, then air-lifted to UAB Hospital.

Police believe the shooting occurred in the wake of an argument that began earlier that day at a basketball game.
