A student at Model High School in Floyd County was fatally injured in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon; the victim was identified by the Floyd County Coroner’s Office, as 16 year old Alexander Brayden Crumbley.
Crumbley and two other juveniles were reportedly traveling east in a 2000 Chevy Blazer on Ward Mountain Road when the accident occurred at around 3:30pm.
According to reports another driver was leaving her driveway – proceeding to turn left and travel west toward Calhoun Road; as the driver of the Blazer reached the driveway and saw the vehicle, they applied the brakes and attempted an evasive maneuver – and at that point, his passenger side wheels left the roadway and when the driver overcorrected the Chevy Blazer overturned – rolling over four to five times.
The two other teenagers in the vehicle were unharmed.
That accident remains under investigation and it’s unclear if any charges will be actually be filed in connection with the wreck.
