Slight Risk for Severe Weather on Saturday

The National Weather Service is saying Saturday could bring severe weather to some parts of the state, including damaging winds, heavy rain, and even some hail.  Cherokee County is in the portion of the state listed as being under a “slight” risk by the Weather Service – with storms expected to start sometime late Saturday morning in northeast Alabama then last to the evening hours.

A “slight” risk means scattered severe storms will be possible.

The places not under a slight risk, northwest and southeast Alabama, will have a “marginal” risk, which means isolated severe storms will be possible.

Drier weather is expected to follow this system starting on Sunday and warm temperatures will be with us going into next week.
